Countdown to Kickoff Day 43: #8 Ohio State Buckeyes

This is where people will start getting mad and I am ALL for it. Tell me I suck and know nothing about this beautiful game. I will be calling you into my office for a friendly meeting in January, I guarantee it. The Buckeyes were gifted an appearance in the 2022 College Football Playoffs and are looking to make a run for it all this year, but there are multiple questions surrounding this team that leave me in doubt.

The offense will have the best wide receiving corps in the nation, led by Marvin Harrison Jr. . Julian Fleming and Emeka Egubka will also be huge playmakers for this squad and a nightmare for defenders. Ryan Day’s team is also set up well in the backfield with Miyan Williams and TreVeyon Henderson, two different running styles but both get the job done while making the other team look silly. The question with this unit is in the QB and with the offensive line. The Buckeyes lost their Heisman Trophy finalist QB in C.J. Stroud and two of their star tackles to the NFL.

Ohio State has created a pipeline over the last 20 plus years that allows them to reload instead of rebuild, so I don’t doubt the skill level that will be on the field for them this year, I just believe that the combination of questions on offense, the need for a handful of newcomers to step up on defense, and a tough schedule will lead this team to yet another two loss regular season (boohoo).

Prediction: 10-2. They have three true road tests against top-20 teams (ND, Wisconsin, and Xichigan) and I know that Ohio State fans are secretly scared to play @ Purdue and vs. Penn State, they just won't admit it.
