Countdown to Kickoff Day 46: #5 Alabama Crimson Tide

This year's Crimson Tide won’t be the same Alabama team we are used to seeing. They have some question marks on both sides of the ball that could result in a little bit of a drop off (#5 in the country as a drop off is hilarious).

We all know Nick Saban’s team will have the talent to be one of if not the best teams in the country, but I think teams are starting to catch up and the gap Alabama has created ever since Saban took over is closed.

Even with the questions that surround this team, they are set up well for two reasons. 1. Having five stars on the field is never a bad thing and 2. all of their “difficult” games are played in Tuscaloosa this year, AND their toughest test against LSU is off their bye week. (surprise surprise).

I think we will find either Alabama or LSU in the #5 spots just missing the CFP. Here’s how i think it will go for the Crimson Tide:

Week 1 vs. Middle Tennessee (W)

Week 2 vs. Texas (L)

Week 3 @ USF (W)

Week 4 vs Ole Miss (W)

Week 5 @ Mississippi State (W)

Week 6 @ Texas A&M (W)

Week 7 vs. Arkansas (W)

Week 8 vs. Tennessee (W)

Week 9 BYE

Week 10 vs. LSU (W)

Week 11 @ Kentucky (W)

Week 12 vs. Chattanooga (W)

Week 13 @ Auburn (W)

SEC Championship vs. Georgia (L)

11-2.

Does a two-loss Alabama team get into the CFB playoffs? I stopped trying to put my mind into the committee's mind a long time ago because nobody really knows. I think they have a solid chance, but we WILL be seeing a handful of close games and game winning drives from Alabama or their opponent this year and it just depends on what side they come out of those games.

The gap is closing.
