CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA- UVA (-30.5) VS. NC A&T
This performance was EXACTLY what UVA fans needed to see out of their team. The Hoos' first game against Tarleton State was a solid game with a couple stains, Florida was a tough battle against a solid team where they came out on top but still had some issues to address, but this game against NC A&T was damn near perfect.
Always keep in mind the competition, but what I saw out on that court is extremely promising for the road ahead. An 80-51 final in favor of UVA, a game that was never in doubt.
Highlights: Reece Beekman was dishing dimes like AI, Isaac McKneely was shooting like Chris Kyle, Ryan Dunn is the second coming of DeAndre Hunter, Leon Bond III is the third coming of DeAndre Hunter, Dante Harris is quicker than a hiccup and has a layup package that has more options than Baskin-Robins Andrew Rohde learned Tony Bennett's defense faster than Michigan learned their opponents signs, and Jacob Groves has a better percentage from three than the sun does against a red head on a hot summer day.
Player of the Game: Ryan Dunn. 13 points, 11 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals and 1 assists. He has the capability to put this team on his back this season, and his swagger will have other fanbases hating on him, but will have me on my knees begging for him to stay another season.
Play of The Game: Bond, Leon Bond III with his second play of the game in three games. His put back slam early in the second half had JPJ rocking and had the Aggies wondering why they even made the trip to Charlottesville.
Final Thoughts: This team is legit, and they are already playing as a unit three games into the season. One thing we haven't seen much of in the first three games is that 6-7 minute scoring drought we knew all too well last year. There was a 4 minute drought against Florida, but I don't think we will be seeing much more of that with how talented this team is.
Next Game: November 16th vs. Texas Southern @ 7pm
