Ranking The Worst Sports Traditions

Involving yourself in the world of sports also means dipping your toes into the traditions that come with watching a sporting event, being at a sporting event, or just being a fan of a sports team. Some of those said traditions will rightfully live on forever, but some of them need to go, and they need to go now.

Ranking the Top 5 WORST Sports Traditions:

5. Jumbotron Proposals.

I went to 7 baseball games last season, and I saw a Jumbotron or Big Screen Proposal at five (5!!) of them. Maybe I am just tired of seeing them/am jealous that other men found a women that would say "yes" to them, but I do not think I am alone in this. There simply HAS to be a better place for you to propose than at a sporting event with 10s of thousands of STRANGERS around you.

4. The Wave

What are we, four years old? The Wave, in its best form, only serves as a distraction to people actually trying to watch the game. The only people who should enjoy this are small children but you WILL find that more often than not, the person who is trying to START the wave is a forty year old "man" who is either trying to impress/embarrass his kids or he is just a nerd who still loves the wave. The Wave almost never is a success and there is just no way anybody actually enjoys it...right?

3. Music Playing During NBA Game Play

This must not bother the players all that much because it wouldn't be a thing if it did. I can not stand hearing those little jingles NBA teams play on the loud speakers during game play. Everyone has asked the question "why are they doing that," but I think I am in the minority here when I say it is part of the reason I stopped watching NBA games for a while.

2. NBA Draft Lottery

What even is this? Nobody can tell me with a straight face this is the best way to determine not only the #1 pick, but the #2, #3, and #4 picks as well. David Sterns intentions of the lottery were for it to prevent teams from "tanking" during the regular season, but that has not stopped teams in the slightest from doing so. Nice gesture, but its just confusing and does no good at all. *

*I am a Wizards fan who has not benefited from the lottery

1. Enter Sandman Entrance (Va Poly Tech)

Im not explaining this.
