CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA- UVA (-5.5) VS. NC STATE

Along with revenge, Virginia is looking to extended its home winning streak to 21 games Wednesday night vs. NC State. UVA (13-5, 4-3 ACC) is on a two game win streak and the Wolfpack (13-5, 5-2 ACC) are looking to bounce back after a tough loss at home to Virginia Tech this past weekend.

What do the Cavaliers need to do to get the win tonight and keep climbing up the ACC standings?

(1) Perimeter Defense

Last go around NC State hit 10 threes, and Casey Morsell only accounted for 1 of those. 10 seemed like a gift with how they were letting it loose from behind the arc earlier this month. The Wolfpack have since been very streaky from deep, going 2-20 against UNC, 10-20 against Louisville, 0-8 against Wake Forest, and 6-18 against Virginia Tech. With a defense that seems to be improving as the year goes on, I see Virginia locking down the perimeter tonight.

(2) Force 10+ Turnovers

This is an NC State team that takes care of the ball very well. They are #22 in the nation, averaging 9.8 turnovers a game. However, in their losses they are averaging just over 12 turnovers. UVA is forcing almost 14 turnovers a game, if they can get close to that number I like their chances.

(3) Stay Hot!

UVA has had two straight games with 40+ points in the second half. They are coming off a very impressive showing on the road against Georgia Tech, shooting 50% from the field, and 48% from deep. Look for Isaac McKneely , Reece Beekman, and Jordan Minor to continue their hot streaks.

Go Hoos!
